Textile Collage Workshop
27-28 January, 23-24 March & 25-26 May 2024 I now run these through NZ Textile Experiences, please visit their website for dates and further details. This workshop is designed to explore your creativity and thriftiness to create an original artwork. Basic stitching techniques using embroidery cottons are taught along with the principles of collage. I share with you knowledge that I have gained from years of using collage techniques with my painting practice, textiles and photography. My practice is based on reusing, recycling and reviving textiles, so you'll get to dive into my large suitcase of scraps! I'll also provide embroidery cottons and wool blanket scraps for working on. Participants are free to bring sentimental pieces of textiles, linen, heirlooms to incorporate into their own piece. Abstract Painting on Paper Workshops
2024 dates by arrangement (min. 3 people) Come and enjoy the freedom and creativity of abstract painting at one of my one day workshops. It doesn't matter if abstract painting is not your normal style, or if you are a beginner, as this workshop is designed to be liberating and creative for everyone. I will share with you knowledge that I have gained from years of painting on paper in different mediums and styles. The workshop is for acrylic paints due to time and space constraints. A list of things to bring will be provided. Collage with Acrylic Painting Workshop
2024 dates by arrangement (min. 3 people) Collage is a great technique for finding your creativity, planning paintings, moving through artistic blocks or just to have fun. Over the day you will have the opportunity to create mono-prints using gelli-plates with acrylic paint, which can then be incorporated into your collages. The workshop is designed to give you the tools to use collage with your acrylic paintings, but is also suitable for complete beginners. If you can cut, rip and glue, you can collage. I will share with you knowledge that I have gained from years of using collage techniques with my painting practice, textiles and photography. A list of things to bring will be provided. |
